Ferry Details

The car-ferry to Rathlin is run by Caledonian MacBrayne and leaves Ballycastle on the North Antrim coast several times a day . The crossing takes about 45 minutes . Vehicles are taken by special permit only, except for disabled drivers (see below)*.
For travel - there are regular tours of the island by minibus, as well as bicycle hire . For more Information contact the following numbers :

Current ferry fares: Please contact the ferry office for the latest fares and any last minute date/time changes . There are a range of options and concessions available . To enable safety procedures to be carried out, passenger must be on board at least 10 minutes before sailing time .
* Vehicle permits available from Moyle District Council. Mary Street, Ballycastle, Northern Ireland. Minimum stay with a vehicle is six consecutive nights on the island .
Registered disabled drivers require no permit, and can cross for a day trip at special rates (orange badge and either Tax Exemption or Disability Living Allowance Book needed), or (Orange Badge only) . Different rates apply for these options .
