This park is at the foot of the Mournes in a 2000 acre forest park . You will find many magnificent trees in the arboretum, an 18th century barn with exhibits, a lecture theatre, cafe, pony trekking, wildfowl collection, fishing, walks and hill climbs in this immensely popular forest park . The Shimna River flows through the forest and is an ideal spot to see various birds and animals throughout the day .
It can accommodate 72 touring vans on hard stands, 38 on grass and 30 tents . The site also has disabled facilities . The cafe at the park is closed until further notice .There is a separate campsite for youth organisations . It is open all year .
My thanks to the Forest Service for supplying the photographs .
